The Basics Location: Scott City, KS
Compensation: $20/hr and up
Days/Hours: This job will be 1st shift. Usual hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with some OT, including weekends.
Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs
Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc; liquid bulk fertilizer

What you'll be doing: The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; unloading liquid fertilizer from railcars and loading the same into truck tanker trailers; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.
Requirements to be successful in this position: - Able to travel to Healy KS and Towner CO to assist with train loading and other projects, as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Available to work overtime and weekends
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Able to pass a criminal background check
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: - This job can be physically strenuous
- You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
- You will work at heights
- You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
- This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
- You will be required to wear PPE
